On October 19, President Truong Tan Sang laid a wreath at the Cambodian Embassy in Hanoi, to express his condolences over the death of Cambodian King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

Sang wrote in the memorials book of his sorrow on hearing of the former King’s death, describing him as a close friend of Vietnam . He added that, along with the rest of the country, he highly valued the support and affection that the late King had given to Vietnam.

Over the three days from October 17, more than 30 delegations from central and local agencies, the business community and many overseas embassies and organisations based in Hanoi paid tribute to former King Sihanouk at the Cambodian Embassy.-VNA
