Gia Lai (VNA)President Tran Dai Quang lauded efforts of the High Command of Army Corps No.3 over the past 43 years during a working session in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on February 1. 

The visit took place on the occasion of the 88th Party founding anniversary (February 3) and the 50th anniversary of the General Tet Offensive in lead-up to the traditional Lunar New Year.

He asked the Army Corps No.3 to fully grasp as well as seriously and effectively implement resolutions and decrees on military affairs and national defence of the Party, State, the Central Military Commission, and the Defence Ministry, thoroughly analyse and forecast sabotage activities by hostile forces in the new situation.

The Army Corps No.3 must work closely with border guard and public security forces, and units concerned to readily fight “peace evolution”, violent disturbances and terrorism while promptly and effectively deal with contingencies, contributing to firmly maintaining political security, social safety and order; safeguarding independence, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, he said.

It was also required to pay attention to building a transparent and strong Party unit with political firmness and synergy, continue effectively realising the Resolution on strengthening Party building and rectification adopted by the fourth conference of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (11th and 12th tenure) and Directive No.05-CT/TW by the Politburo (12th tenure) on stepping up the campaign on studying and following moral example and lifestyle of President Ho Chi Minh.

The State leader requested the Army Corps No.3 partner with departments and agencies to urge the people to abide by the Party guidelines, and State laws and policies; offer support in poverty reduction, socio-economic and cultural development and disaster prevention.

Visiting Regiment of the Mobile Police of the Central Highlands, President Quang said as 2018 is a year crucial to the successful implementation of the Resolution adopted by the 12th National Party Congress and the 2016-2020 socio-economic development plan, the Regiment needs to firmly maintain political stability, safeguard territorial sovereignty and social safety and order, thus creating a favourable environment for national development.
