President Truong Tan Sang has praised the Hanoi police force’s feat of arms in maintaining the capital city’s security and social order in all situations.

While visiting the force on January 21 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, President Sang said its achievements have enriched the traditions of the people’s police and the capital city.

The President also visited the north-eastern mobile police regiment under the Ministry of Public Security.

He spoke highly of the police’s seriousness and readiness for fighting and maintaining safety at national and international social and political events organised in Vietnam in 2013.

The same day, the President paid a Tet (Lunar New Year) visit to the Vietnam Red Cross Society, recognising its effective operation during 2013.

On this occasion, Le Hong Anh, politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, visited and extended New Year greetings to the south-western mobile police regiment based in Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city.-VNA
