State President Nguyen Minh Triet has expressed satisfaction at the role played by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) as an active aide to the State President in promoting national unity.

The State leader attended a meeting in Hanoi on March 5 to review last year’s implementation of a regulation on coordinating actions between the State President and the VFF Presidium, as well as the key targets for 2010.

Triet said “The VFF and its member entities have done well in promoting national unity and public confidence in the Party and State leadership, thus leading to the success of Party and State policies and strong national patriotic movements”.

He asked the nation’s largest mass organisation to promote people’s awareness of the objectives and humanitarian nature of the 2010 huge Amnesty as a practical celebration of the year’s numerous major events.

“VFF should also facilitate people-to-people diplomacy as a contribution to the success of Party and State policies as well as strengthening solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese people and other peoples in the world”./.
