President Truong Tan Sang received visiting Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg in Hanoi on April 17, saying that her visit will help deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The President hailed the support that Norway has given to Vietnam init national construction, socio-economic development and internationalintegration.

He said the two Governments shouldfacilitate linkages between the business communities of the twocountries, and push for the early conclusion of negotiation and signingof the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Union.

The two Governments should continue to make full use of dialogue andpolitical-diplomatic consultative mechanisms, while maintaining closecoordination at multi-lateral forums, the President said, adding thatbesides economic ties, cooperation in culture and education-trainingshould also be strengthened to enhance the friendship and mutualunderstanding between the two peoples.

PM ErnaSolberg affirmed that Norway wishes to deepen its cooperation withVietnam, particularly in the fields of investment and trade.

She praised Vietnam for fulfilling ahead of schedule many UNMillennium Development Goals (MDGs) and pledged that as Co-Chair of theMDGs Advocacy Group, she will continue to support Vietnam in completingthe remaining MDGs and build Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).-VNA

Vietnam, Laos strengthen security cooperation

Key Vietnamese Party official lays wreaths at monuments in Phnom Penh

This is the first official visit to Cambodia by Tu in his capacity as Politburo member and Permanent member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat.
