President Truong Tan Sang visited mining industry workers in northern Quang Ninh province on May 6, on the occasion of Workers’ Month.

At the Vinacomin Machine Manufacture Company, the Presidentcommended the company’s efforts to gradually improve the livingconditions of its workers as well as its active involvement in socialactivities.

He said the company has a good traditionin creating a positive environment for workers through productionemulation campaigns.

Earlier, President Sang visitedworkers at the Vang Danh Coal Company, which employs 6,000 workers andproduces more than 600,000 tonnes of coal a year.

ThePresident said Quang Ninh province is one of the cradles of the workingclass in Vietnam, and the workers here have made considerablecontributions to the maturity of the country’s working class.

President Sang also presented gifts to Do Van Quang, whose family has three generations being coal miners.-VNA
