At his reception for Nikai Toshihiro, President of the Japan-VietnamParliamentary Friendship Alliance, PM Dung spoken highly of theeffective and positive contributions the president and members of thealliance have made to strengthening and consolidating bilateral tiesbetween the two countries.

He welcomed the initiativeto build the Vietnam-Japan University in Hanoi supported by thealliance, and said he believes that the alliance will continue to play akey role in developing the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership.

For his part, Nikai Toshihiro affirmed that the alliance will do itsutmost to boost cooperation between the two countries, especially ineconomics, trade, investment, science and technology and education andtraining.

Meeting with President of the Japan ’sInternational Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) Matsuzawa Ken, theVietnamese PM said people-to-people exchange activities held during theVietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013 have helped enhance the friendshipand mutual understanding between the two nations.

Healso expressed his belief that with its large membership and influence,FEC will contribute more to expanding and strengthening the relationsbetween the two countries, especially in economics, trade, investmentand human resources development.

Matsuzawa Ken saidthe council often arranges for Japanese delegations to visit Vietnam ,which has a great potential for investment, to study investmentopportunities and conduct exchanges with Vietnamese partners.

In his meeting with CEO and Executive Managing Director of the JapanBank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Hiroshi Watanabe, PM Dungasked JBIC to increase support to Vietnam ’s important projects,especially in transport infrastructure and energy as well as to Japaneseinvestors who wish to expand business and investment in Vietnam .

The Vietnamese government will create favourable conditions for the operation of JBIC and Japanese enterprises, he said.

Receiving Professor Natsume Nagato, Director of the Japanese Cleft Lipand Palate Foundation, PM Dung thanked the professor and the foundationfor their support to Vietnamese underprivileged children, noting thatthe foundation has conducted surgeries for over 3,000 Vietnamesechildren with cleft palate over the past 20 years.

Professor Natsume Nagato affirmed the association will continue itsefforts to help defective Vietnamese children and suggested that the twosides enhance cooperation not only in this field but also in cancerprevention.

The same day, PM Dung joined other ASEANleaders at a tea party hosted by the Japanese Emperor and Empress, and abanquet hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

He is scheduled to participate in the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summitto mark the 40 th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan dialogue relations and thefifth Mekong-Japan summit on December 14.-VNA

Pathways to double-digit growth to be tabled at 16th NA’s first session

In the morning sitting on April 20, deputies are expected to hear proposals and verification reports on a range of draft resolutions. The documents cover breakthrough mechanisms and policies for the development of Vietnamese culture; the establishment of Dong Nai as a centrally run city; a pilot framework for public lawyer institution; and special mechanisms to address land law violations committed prior to the 2024 Land Law taking effect, alongside measures to resolve long-delayed and stalled projects.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s working trip to Italy and Türkiye achieved important and comprehensive results at both bilateral and multilateral levels. Vietnam, China sign 32 cooperation documents

The documents include a cooperation plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the 2026–2030 period; a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Organisation Commission of the CPV Central Committee and its Chinese counterpart; and a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
