Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received newly-appointed Kuwaiti ambassador Hamad Saleh Al-Jutaili in Hanoi on November 9.

PM Dung affirmed that favourable conditions would be provided to ambassador Hamad to help him successfully fulfil his important responsibility in Vietnam, contributing to boosting bilateral cooperation in all fields.

PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the development of cooperation between Vietnam and Kuwait and praised bilateral efforts to realise agreements, reached by the two sides during visits exchanged by the two prime ministers of the two countries. Noteworthy is an agreement on the Kuwaiti national oil and gas group’s investment into the Nghi Son oil and gas project in the central province of Thanh Hoa.

PM Dung asked Hamad to coordinate with Vietnamese ministries and relevant agencies to push forward joint efforts in all fields, with a focus on preparation for a meeting by the Inter-Government Committee among the two countries to step up agreements in energy and agriculture.

For his part, Kuwaiti ambassador Hamad promised that he would make his best efforts to boost multi-faceted cooperation between his country and Vietnam. The ambassador also recommended that high-ranking exchange visits should be increased in the coming time to beef up cooperation in trade and investment.
