Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc highlighted the importance of cooperation in the fields of knowledge, technical assistance and technology transfer via the Republic of Korea’s investments in Vietnam while receiving former Minister of Policy Coordination of the RoK Yoon Dae-hee in Hanoi on March 29.

The PM said he is glad to see the former minister again and told him that the RoK has become one of the largest and most important investment and trade partner of Vietnam.

He spoke highly of the RoK guest’s activities pertaining to technical assistance and the sharing of knowledge and experience.

The former minister, for his part, said the Korean people are very keen to learn about bilateral cooperation with Vietnam, especially high-level meetings of the countries’ leaders.

He spoke of his special attention to the knowledge-sharing programme between the two countries given it will contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic growth.

A fast growth can be achieved with investments in knowledge development and human resources training, especially vocational training, he said, suggesting the Vietnamese Government focus on improving the quality of human resources and expanding cooperative ties with foreign partners for its successes.

He also showed his keen interest in working together with the Vietnamese Government, ministries and sectors to find development paths for Vietnam’s economy.

PM Phuc appreciated the former minister’s opinions and expressed his wishes that the RoK will share its knowledge and experience in integrating intensively and extensively into the world with Vietnam given the country has been meeting a lot of hurdles, difficulties and challenges during the course.

Human resources training is a big issue of Vietnam, he said, showing his hope for having long-term cooperation and valuable ideas and consultancy from the former minister for the Vietnamese Government as practical actions to contribute to the growing Vietnam-RoK relations. - VNA
