Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received newly-appointed Saudi Arabian ambassador Salah Bin Ahmad Sarhan in Hanoi on November 12.

PM Dung affirmed that favourable conditions would be provided to ambassador Salah Bin Ahmad Sarhan to help him successfully fulfil his important responsibilities in Vietnam , contributing to boosting bilateral cooperation in all fields.

PM Dung expressed his pleasure at the development of relations between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia and called for joint efforts to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially in oil and gas, labour and agriculture in order to bring practical benefit to both sides.

PM Dung asked Ahmad Sarhan to coordinate with Vietnamese ministries and relevant agencies to push forward multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and Saudi Arabia with first priority being given to negotiations to sign agreements on double taxation avoidance, investment and labour and the establishment of the inter-governmental committee to effectively deploy bilateral cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and investment.

For his part, Saudi Arabian ambassador Ahmad Sarhan promised that he would make his best efforts to boost multi-faceted cooperation between his country and Vietnam . The ambassador also affirmed that Saudi Arabia would like to increase cooperation in oil and gas with Vietnam as well as prepare to welcome Vietnamese labourers to work in the country./.
