Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung went for a stroll along the flower road and the book festival, which was opened to public on February 16 along Ham Nghi Street, Ho Chi Minh City in honour of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet).

PM Dung praised the municipal authorities for holding the flower road and book festival on the occasion of Tet every year, creating a good entertainment venue for local residents.

He said he was impressed by the artful arrangement of flowers in the road as well as the great number of books displayed at the festival.

This year’s flower road, which was shifted to Ham Nghi Street instead of Nguyen Hue Street in previous years, features two main segments: Vietnamese Identity (Ban Sac Viet) and Vietnam’s Magnanimity (Hao Khi Viet Nam) with the combination of flowers and creative images, aiming to highlight the industrious spirit, patriotic tradition, aspiration for peace, prosperous development of HCM City and the nation in general.

Meanwhile, the book road festival is introducing over 15,000 book titles with various subjects, highlighting the City’s increasingly strong development and integration effort.

The events will run until the 4 th day of the lunar January, which will fall on February 22.-VNA
