Vietnam always encourages domestic businesses to invest in Cambodia, especially in rubber planting, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stated when receiving Cambodia’s Minister of Planning Chhay Than in Hanoi on March 10.

He proposed the Cambodian Government promptly address the granting of land use right certificates to Vietnamese firms to ease their worries and facilitate their long-term operation in the country.

The PM noted that the close and effective collaboration between Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment and Cambodia’s Ministry of Planning has contributed to increased bilateral ties, especially in economy, trade, investment and tourism.

The guest briefed on the successful talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Quang Vinh and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation for 2015 between the two ministries.

The MoU charts a course of actions to connect the two economies, as well as between the two and Laos’ in line with the agreement signed by the three Prime Ministers during the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Summit in late 2014, the Cambodian Minister said.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed support for these plans and asked for the prompt implementation.

He also asked the two ministries to figure out reasons behind a drop in two-way trade in 2014 and work out solutions to the problem so as to realise the 5 billion USD trade goal.-VNA
