President Truong Tan Sang urged the Supreme People’s Procuracy to accelerate the settlement of and strictly deal with economic and corruption cases at a working session in Hanoi on December 24 to review its performance this year and launch tasks for 2014.

The President asked them to enhance the quality of prosecution works, while promoting talks on and the signing of criminal judicial assistance agreements.

The procuracy sector needs to focus on removing their existing flaws and devise renovation measures to fufil their tasks, he added.

President Sang expressed his belief that as a number of legal documents, particularly the newly-adopted Constitution, come into effect in 2014, the sector will continue its judicial reforms, thus creating positive changes in its operations.

At the event, he was reported that the sector this year has increased its responsibility in investigation and prosecution works and the quality of dealing with crime denunciations.

It has ensured the legality of prosecution decisions and solved 98.7 percent of cases.-VNA
