Regional connectivity, therefore, constitutes an effectivemeasure to fully tap the sector’s potential for sustainable development,heard a workshop in Dak Nong province on July 24.

ViceChairwoman of the local People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lehighlighted the ongoing culture and tourism week in the province as akey note of the 2014 National Tourism Year.

Dak Nong is hometo the cultural space of Central Highlands gong, which was recognized bythe UNESCO in 2005 as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible CulturalHeritage of Humanity.

The Central Highlands comprises five provinces of Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Lam Dong.

The region is said a land of mysterious mountains and forests with asignificant population of ethnic minorities whose varied customs andlifestyles are an anthropologist's delight.

It is suggested combining tourism with the preservation of the region’s culture.-VNA

Vietnamese sports delegation leaves for ASIAD 20 in Japan

The Vietnamese delegation comprises 496 members, including athletes, coaches, experts, officials, doctors and medical staff. The teams will depart in several groups depending on their competition schedules, with the largest group expected to leave on September 16. The squad has set a target of winning at least four gold medals at ASIAD 20.
