The Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) will provide dynamic positioning vessel, DP2, for its partner, Talisman Malaysia , to serve the latter operation in the joint PM3-CAA project.

A service contract to this effect was signed between the two sides in Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 19.

According to Nguyen Hung Dung, PTSC General Director, this is the first time PTSC won an international bid to provide DP vessel for Talisman.

The contract, worth 35 million USD, will be valid for five years.

The bid winning will help boost bilateral cooperation in the future and also affirm PTSC leading position in providing petroleum services, Dung said.

PM3-CAA project is being implemented in the overlapping area between Vietnam and Malaysia under a production sharing contract.

Canada-headquartered Talisman, an independent upstream oil and gas company, has invested billions of CAD into the project, which is the Canadian largest project in Asia .

PTSC, specialised in providing technical services for the oil and gas sector, including vessels, owns a fleet of 24 vessels, comprising anchor handing tug supply vessel (AHTS), DP1, DP2, tugboats, surveillance diving support vessels, fire prevention and safety and LPG tankers.

Earlier, PTSC signed a contract to provide floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO)-Orkid for Talisman Malaysia for 13 years./.
