About 2,500 locals in the central province of Quang Ngai will receive free medical care during a charitable event from July 7-14, as part of the Q-Health programme that focuses on improving health care services for residents in central region.

During the programme, three local children with innate heart disease will be sent to Chung Ang University hospital in the Republic of Korea (RoK) for free surgeries.

Organised by the RoK’s Doosan Group, Doosan Vina, Chung Ang University’s hospital and the RoK International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the five-year Q-Health programme was launched in 2012 as part of Doosan Group’s efforts to realise social responsibilities.

In June 2014, doctors from Chung Ang University ’s hospital were sent to the Quang Nam Central General Hospital to transfer technique of goitre and knee joint operations to local doctors.-VNA
