 Quang Binh (VNA) – Border guards in the central province of Quang Binh said they had captured three Lao nationals who were smuggling 24,000 methamphetamine pills into Vietnam.

The border guards in collaboration with Lao Khammouane province’s security force, detected suspicious behaviours of Thao Keo (30), Neeng Soong (30), Kham Phet Chang (37) on National Highway 12A at 3 pm on April 11.

A search found 200 packs containing 24,000 round pills hidden on the suspects’ motorbikes and bodies. The drugs have a street value of about 1 billion VND (44,000 USD). The three were immediately arrested.

They admitted they were transporting the methamphetamine pills from Laos to sell in Vietnam.

The three men and seized drug were handed over to relevant Lao agencies for further investigation.-VNA
