The central province of Quang Ngai is in need of assistance with industrial and urban development, improving the quality of human resources and sustainably managing poverty reduction in six mountainous districts, said Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Cao Khoa. Japanese donors are assessing the province’s needs with a view to investment.

Khoa made the statement at a working session with a Japanese parliamentarian’s delegation, led by Kanda Norio, advisor to the Japan ’s Ministries of Finance and Privatisation of Postal Services, in Quang Ngai province on July 30.

He said he hopes Japanese investors would explore and invest in agriculture, industry, healthcare, education and the development of the Dung Quat Oil Refinery and Ly Son island district.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee Vo Van Thuong expressed his gratitude and hoped that the delegation would consider the assistance to Quang Ngai’s projects and promote friendly cooperation between Quang Ngai province and the Fukuoka prefecture.

For his part, Norio spoke highly of Quang Ngai’s tourism and technical resource potential.

He said he will assist with the construction of the Long Mon primary school in Minh Long district as soon as possible.

During their working visit to Quang Ngai province from July 27-31, the delegation conducted a fact-finding tour of Minh Long mountainous district and Ly Son island district./.
