The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh and the International Culture Association WANOKAI ( Japan ) have worked together on ways to spur tourism development.

At a workshop on cooperation in tourism development last week, Hamada-Kazuki, Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan , spoke of the great number of Japanese visitors to Vietnam annually, but raised the fact that the number of those returning to the country is still low.

Officials from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed the early establishment of a mechanism for both sides to promptly exchange tourist information and set up joint plans for cooperation and implementation.

They expressed their hopes to receive assistance in setting up a tourism representative office in Japan as well as cooperation to promote tourism and develop tourism products.-VNA
