Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northern coastalprovince of Quang Ninh on September 29 kicked off a pilot automatic system for entry-exitcontrol at the COVID-19 checkpoint on Bach Dang Bridge toll station in QuangYen township.

This is the first checkpoint in the province to launch thesystem, which uses cameras to automatically scan people's QR codes. The scannedinformation will then be transmitted to computers of officers on duty forfurther checks.

The cameras process information much quicker than thetraditional method under which an officer scans the codes by his smartphone.

The system aims to limit close contact, reduce the risk ofdisease transmission, and shorten the time for administrative procedures.

Lying on the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh expressway, theBach Dang Bridge checkpoint is the most important location to monitor peopleand vehicles entering Quang Ninh from localities nationwide. Some 3,000vehicles run though the checkpoint a day./.
