Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh on September 29 kicked off a pilot automatic system for entry-exit control at the COVID-19 checkpoint on Bach Dang Bridge toll station in Quang Yen township.

This is the first checkpoint in the province to launch the system, which uses cameras to automatically scan people's QR codes. The scanned information will then be transmitted to computers of officers on duty for further checks.

The cameras process information much quicker than the traditional method under which an officer scans the codes by his smartphone.

The system aims to limit close contact, reduce the risk of disease transmission, and shorten the time for administrative procedures.

Lying on the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh expressway, the Bach Dang Bridge checkpoint is the most important location to monitor people and vehicles entering Quang Ninh from localities nationwide. Some 3,000 vehicles run though the checkpoint a day./.
