The northern coastal province of Quang Ninh will have another chance to promote its abundant tourism potential when the East Asia Inter-regional Tourism Forum (EATOF) takes place in the province from September 13-17.

Founded in 1999 in Gangwon in the Republic of Korea with the memberships of nine East Asian countries, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Mongolia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, and China, EATOF aims to promote cooperation and the development of tourism among member countries. Only one EATOF member province per country is admitted to the organisation on a permanent basis.

In 2006, Quang Ninh province became a new regular member and Siem Reap in Cambodia , and Luang Prabang in Laos subsequently joined EATOF in 2009.

It is expected some 200 representatives from 12 EATOF Permanent Secretariat meeting, as well as art performances presented by EATOF member countries, will be among the EATOF forum’s agenda./.
