Bangkok (NNT/VNA)– Radio Thailand has marked its 88th anniversary, holding an event tocommemorate the Father of Thai Radio.
Acting Director-General ofthe Public Relations Department, Lt Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd, chaired a wreathlaying ceremony before a photograph of Gen His Royal Highness Prince PurachatraJayakara, the Prince of Kamphaengphet, or Phra Chao Boromwongse Ther Phra OngChao Purachatra Jayakara Kromma Phra Kamphaengphet Akarayothin. His RoyalHighness is considered the Father of Thai Radio and February 25, 2018 is the88th anniversary of founding of Radio Thailand.
Deputy Director of the PRD,Pichaya Muangnaow, and Director of the National Broadcasting Services ofThailand (NBT), Kittisak Hankla, attended the ceremony along with members ofthe private and public sectors. Radio Thailand was founded on February 25,1930.
Lt Gen Sansern remarked thatradio enables members of the public to follow the progress of the state andstated the PRD will continue to develop all its media channels to present citizenswith up to date information.
Earlier in the day, DeputyDirector of the PRD, Dr. Charoon Chaisorn, led members of his office in areligious ceremony to mark Radio Thailand Day. The ceremony included thehandover of donations to Sri Thanya Hospital as a form of merit making. - VNA
