Hanoi (VNA) – Leaders of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) reaffirmed their determination to soon reach a RCEP agreement between ASEAN and its six partners of Australia, China, the Republic of Korea, India, Japan and New Zealand.

During their meeting in Manila, the Philippines on the framework of the 31st ASEAN Summit, the leaders passed a document on major content that must be reached to conclude negotiations for the deal, while agreeing to direct their negotiation teams to speed up the process in 2018.

They held that a comprehensive, win-win, high quality, modern and committed deal will help form a favourable trade and investment environment, thus facilitating growth and equal economic development as well as integration of the region.

The leaders concurred to focus on market access, principles and cooperation, and the strengthening of domestic consultations.

They will concentrate on seeking measures to remove obstacles in development level gap as well as difference in economic scale, commitments and implementation of member countries.-VNA
