Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Kong Xuanyou hosted a reception to mark the 63 rd anniversary of his country’s National Day (Oct. 1) in Hanoi on Sept. 28.

Prominent among those attending the event was Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, who is also head of the Vietnam-China bilateral cooperation steering committee.

Speaking at the event, the Chinese diplomat said that thanks to the efforts made by both countries, the Vietnam-China relations have kept growing.

China wants to join hands with Vietnam to deepen their traditional friendship, expand cooperation for mutual benefit and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, he added.

The diplomat affirmed that China will persist its peaceful development path and the foreign policy of friendliness with neighbouring countries.

For his part, Nhan said that over the recent past, the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership have made new progress in all fields.

The regularly maintained high-level exchanges and visits have contributed to further strengthening political trust between the two countries, thus creating a strong driving force to push up bilateral cooperation in all aspects, he added.

According to the deputy PM, the two sides are making preparations for the sixth session of the Vietnam-China bilateral cooperation steering committee later this year.

He also stressed that the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is suitable for the interest of the people of each country and beneficial to peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world at large.-VNA
