Each of the districts, including Meo Vac in Ha Giang province, Muong Te in Lai Chau province, Muong Nhe in Dien Bien province, Ky Son in Nghe An province, Da Krong in Quang Tri province and Tu Mo Rong in Kon Tum provine, will receive 100 cows, each worth 7 million VND.
Initiated by the VRC, the activity is part of a programme entitled “Joining hands for poor people in border areas” starting from 2010.
The programme will focus on setting up a cow bank with a goal of presenting 1,000 cows to people in poor districts and 1,000 scholarships, each worth 5 million VND, to poor gifted students every year.
The programme aims to improve the living standards for the most vulnerable people, especially women and children, in 797 communes of 62 poor districts nationwide./.
