Reference exchange rate down at week’s beginning

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference VND/USD exchange rate at 22,439 VND/USD on December 18, down 2 VND from the rate on the last day of previous week (December 15).

Hanoi (VNA)
– The StateBank of Vietnam set the daily reference VND/USD exchange rate at 22,439 VND/USDon December 18, down 2 VND from the rate on the last day of previous week(December 15).

With the current trading band of/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is23,112 VND and the floor rate 21,766 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at mostmajor commercial banks stayed unchanged from December 15.

The buying rate is being listed at22,680 VND and selling rate at 22,750 VND/USD at Vietcombank, BIDV andVietinbank.-VNA

Vietnam expected to export over 7.5 million tonnes of rice in 2025

MARD’s supply and demand report sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) projects the Mekong Delta will cultivate 3.78 million hectares of rice, yielding more than 23.96 million tonnes. Of this, 15.08 million tonnes of commercial rice, equivalent to 7.54 million tonnes of husked rice, will be available for export.
