Reference exchange rate goes up on December 5

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,266 VND/USD on December 5, up 4 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at 24,266 VND/USD on December 5, up 4 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is 25,479 VND/USD and the floor rate 23,053 VND/USD.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates also saw slight increases.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 25,176 VND/USD and the selling rate at 25,479 VND/USD, both up 4 VND from December 4.

BIDV raised the buying rate by 17 VND to 25,189 VND/USD and the selling rate by 4 VND to 25,479 VND/USD./.
