Hanoi (VNA) – The StateBank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,139 VND/USD onSeptember 23, up 7 VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of /-3 percent, the ceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is23,833 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,444 VND/USD.

The opening hour rates at commercialbanks stayed stable.

At 8.25 am, Vietcombank listed thebuying rate at 22.630 VND/USD and the selling rate at  22,860 VND/USD, unchangedfrom September 22.

BIDV also kept both rates unchanged,listing the buying rate at 22,660 VND/USD and the selling rate at 22,860VND/USD.

Similarly, Vietinbank maintained bothrates, listing at 22,640 VND/USD (buying) and 22,860 VND/USD (selling)./.

Finance ministry eyes flexible tax thresholds

In a draft law amending several articles of the laws on personal income tax, corporate income tax and value-added tax, Vietnam's finance ministry proposed scrapping the fixed revenue threshold of 500 million VND. Instead, it suggested the threshold be set by the Government based on prevailing economic conditions.

Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City decline in Q1 amid global headwinds
