Reference exchange rate up 8 VND

Hanoi (VNA) – The State Bank of Vietnam set the reference exchange rate for VND/USD at 22,125 VND per USD on December 12, up 8 VND from the end of last week.    

With the current trade band of /- 3 percent, the ceiling rate for commercial bank is 22,788 VND and the floor rate, 21,462 VND per USD.    

However, the opening hour rates at commercial banks continued to decline remarkably.

Vietcombank listed its buying rate at 22,530 VND and selling rate at 22,610 VND for one USD, both down 65 VND from the rates on December 9.

The buying rate at BIDV was 22,530 VND, down 60 VND, and the selling rate – 22,610 VND, down 50 VND.  

  Vietinbank cut its buying rate by 55 VND to 22,540 VND and its selling rate dropped 50 VND to 22,615 VND per USD.-VNA
