Thirteen patients in a COVID-19 treatment hospital in Hai Duong province, the country’s current largest coronavirus hotspot were given the all-clear on February 24.

Vietnam detected nine cases of COVID-19 over the past 12 hours to 18:00 on February 24, all in the northern province of Hai Duong, raising the tally of domestic infections to 1,513.

The northern province of Hai Duong, the country’s current largest hotspot of COVID-19, plans to conduct large-scale testing for the novel coronavirus, using Realtime-PCR technology, from February 24.

Two more new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed over the last 12 hours, from 6:00pm on February 23 to 6:00am on February 24, taking the national count to 2,403.

The northern province of Hai Duong – Vietnam’s biggest COVID-19 epicentre at present – should continue speeding up testing and tracing all possible contacts with confirmed cases, while carrying out flexible screening tests at high-risk areas.

Three more COVID-19 patients were confirmed in the northern province of Hai Duong, the country’s largest COVID-19 hotspot, on February 23 morning, raising the country’s total community infections to 1,496, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Police of Hai Duong city in the norther province of the same name on February 22 decided to start legal proceedings against a case of “spreading contagious disease to others”, which occurred at No.15 Tran Sung Dinh, Hai Tan ward, Hai Duong city.

Now is the golden time for Hai Duong to stamp out the COVID-19 outbreak, said Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son during a visit to check COVID-19 response in the northern province on February 18.

Military Zone 3 assisted Cam Giang district, the northern province of Hai Duong – the country’s current COVID-19 largest hotspot, in spraying disinfectants in 12 areas on February 17 amid the complicated developments of the pandemic.

The northern province of Hai Duong has ordered its provincial and district-level Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to tighten management of concentrated quarantine centres, lockdown areas and COVID-19 hospitals to prevent cross transmission.

Social distancing will be applied across the northern province of Hai Duong as from 0:00 on February 16 or the fifth day of the Lunar New Year.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long has ordered the northern province of Hai Duong – Vietnam’s recent hotspot of COVID-19 outbreaks – considering implementing the Prime Minister’s Decree 16/CT-TTg on a wider scale to avoid getting behind developments of the pandemic.

Ten out of 12 district-level localities in the northern province of Hai Duong have reported COVID-19 infection cases, with the tally reaching 440 as of 6:00 on February 14.

Twenty seven COVID-19 patients in northern Hai Duong province were given the all-clear on February 11, just one day before the Lunar New Year.
