State President Luong Cuong on November 5 sent a message of condolences to General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un over the passing of comrade Kim Yong Nam, former Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.
Party General Secretary To Lam proposed that both sides continue to reinforce political trust to guide and expand cooperation across all fields, successfully organise the 17th meeting of the Vietnam – China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and promote the roles of the key pillars of diplomacy, national defence, and public security.
The Communist Party of Vietnam is willing to work together with the DPRK to further promote the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in a more substantive and effective manner, in line with the interests of the people of both nations, and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
The museum was established on the foundation of the historical site where the WPK and President Kim Il Sung worked during the early years of the WPK’s establishment.
The Vietnamese leader expressed his deep emotion at visiting the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun – the eternal resting place of the two great leaders of the DPRK, who were close friends and comrades of the Party, State, and people of Vietnam.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Le Ba Vinh stressed that President Ho Chi Minh is the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, a national liberation hero, a great man of culture, and a close friend of the DPRK people.

The DPRK was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1950. The traditional friendship between the two countries has been nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kim Il Sung, and generations of leaders of both nations.
The state visit takes place as the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and their Friendship Year 2025, vividly reflecting the importance that the two Parties and States attach to the long-standing ties between the nations.
The upcoming visit by Party General Secretary To Lam to the DPRK, following the successful official visit to Vietnam by DPRK leader Kim Jong Un in 2019, once again demonstrates the loyal and close-knit friendship between the two Parties, States, and peoples, said Ambassador Le Ba Vinh.
“With the goodwill, shared determination and sustained cooperation from both sides, we are confident that this historic visit will open up new prospects for Vietnam–DPRK relations,” Vu said.
The visit will be made at the invitation of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced./.
