Phu Tho makes thorough preparations for Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day

The Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day, Hung Kings Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture–Tourism Week 2026 will run from April 17–26 (the first to 10th days of the third lunar month) at the Special National Historical Relic Site of Hung Kings Temple and other localities in the province, with the opening ceremony set for 8pm on April 17.

Phu Tho: 1.2-tonne bomb successfully detonated

On November 17, residents of Hong Ha 2 Area in Thanh Mieu ward, Phu Tho province discovered the bomb submerged in water near Viet Tri bridge and brought it ashore. Upon receiving the report, the engineering unit of the provincial Military Command immediately arrived at the scene and identified it as the remaining body of an M118 demolition bomb left over from war.

Heavy rains have caused rising water levels in the Tich, Bui, and Day rivers in Hanoi. As of 5 pm on August 26, the water level at Yen Duyet station on the Bui river reached 6.34m (0.34m above the alert level 1), while at Vinh Phuc station on the Tich river, it stood at 7.45m (0.55m below the alert level 3), with forecasts indicating further rises.

Construction of new Phong Chau bridge kicks off

The Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of the northern province of Phu Tho on December 21 started the construction of the new Phong Chau bridge on National Highway 32C to replace the old one, which collapsed as a result of Typhoon Yagi.
