Vietnam trounced Singapore 9-1 in the opening match of the Southeast Asia Women’s Football Championship (SAWFC) in Laos.

Of the goals, striker Nguyen Thi Hoa contributed four. The team’s coach Tran Van Phat said that this was an important win to the team.

SAWFC is being held in Laos by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) in cooperation with the Lao Football Federation (LFF) from Oct. 16-25, attracting the participation of women’s football teams from Indonesia , Singapore , Laos , Thailand , Myanmar , Malaysia , the Philippines and Vietnam .
