According to a recent
Government decree , the new monthly minimum wage will be applied
in four different regions in Vietnam as follows - Region I: 2.7
million VND (128 USD); Region II: 2.4 million VND (114 USD); Region III:
2.1 million VND (100 USD) and Region IV: 1.9 million VND (89
USD).
The new salary benchmarks will pick up between 250,000 – 350,000 VND (11-16 USD).
The decree also encourages employers to pay their employees higher than the stipulated minimum wages.-VNA
