A conference aimed at promoting a thorough understanding of the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress was held in Hanoi on Sept. 6 for religious dignitaries and followers in the northern region.

Addressing the event, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Huynh Dam highlighted the presence of dignitaries of all religions which, they said, reflected the interest and responsibility of all religions, dignitaries and religious followers in the great national unity for national construction and defence.

The conference is expected to help religious dignitaries thoroughly grasp viewpoints and basic contents of the 11 th National Party Congress’ documents and Party policies and State law on freedom of beliefs and religions.

It is also intended to help create trust and consensus among dignitaries and religious followers in implementing the Party policies and the State law and enhance and bring into play the strength of the great national unity.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Dinh The Huynh spoke highly of the responsibility and devotion of religious dignitaries to national construction, defence and development.

Huynh, who is also head of the CPVCC Commission for Popularisation and Education, said that the 11 th National Party Congress affirmed the Party and State’s consistent policy on beliefs and religions, but did not allow anyone to take advantage of beliefs to damage the interests of the nation and the people.

The VFF is a common house of the great national unity bloc that reflects the desires, will and sentiments of the entire Party and State, creating a unconquerable strength to sustainably build and defend the country, he said./.
