A conference aimed at promoting a thorough understanding of the Resolution of the 11th National Party Congress was held in Ho Chi Minh City on August 25 for more than 300 dignitaries and religious followers from southern cities and provinces.

Addressing the event, Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Dinh The Huynh and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Huynh Dam highlighted the presence of dignitaries of all religions which, they said, reflected the interest and responsibility of all religions, dignitaries and religious followers for national construction and defence.

Huynh, who also heads the CPVCC Commission for Popularisation and Education, said that the Resolution affirms the Party and State’s consistent policy on beliefs and religions.

At the conference, the participants studied viewpoints and fundamental contents of the Resolution and the Party Congress’s documents as well as a number of the Party and State’s policies and law on beliefs and religions.

The conference was expected to help create trust and consensus among dignitaries and religious followers in implementing the Party policies and the State law, enhance the great national unity and encourage them to become involve in national emulation movements and contribute to national construction and defence.

A similar conference is scheduled to be held for religious representatives in the northern region, in Hanoi on Sept. 6./.
