An assessment of a research project that examined the Communist Party of Vietnam’s 1991 Party Political Platform has found it had made significant contribution in preparing documents for next year’s 11 th Congress.

Politburo Central Committee Secretariat member To Huy Rua led the team that did the review.

The Central Theory Council, the Science and Technology Ministry and the Execu7tive Board of the Scientific Study of Political Theory Programme co-chaired the review in Hanoi on June 20.

The assessors gave the project an excellent ranking for value.

More than 50 senior participants provided their expertise to compile a comprehensive insight into the 1991 platform.

The project analysed its birth and its tremendous contribution to orientation and guidance.

Project participants assessed the content of the platform to identify what should be kept and what should be further developed to adapt to the new conditions of globalisation and international integration.

Suggested modifications included an overview of Vietnam ’s revolution and its lessons; the world situation, the characteristics of the transition of Vietnam in its advance to socialism; and high-level orientations in the development of economics, politics, culture, society, national defence, security, foreign diplomacy, party building and the political system./.
