In a joint statement issued after their 7 th meeting in Seoul, trade ministers Kim Jong-Hoon of the RoK, Chen Deming of China and Masayuki Naoshima of Japan affirmed that they will complete a feasibility study on creating the free-trade area in the next two years.
"We reaffirm the importance of the trilateral investment framework, which will be instrumental to further strengthening economic partnership among the three countries," said the trade ministers' statement.
The ministers also discussed ways to speed up the Doha negotiation round on global trade liberalization and consolidate cooperation in the framework of the group of 20 developed and emerging economies (G20) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
The RoK, Chinese and Japanese trade ministers will meet again in Seoul to prepare for their summit slated for May 29-30 on the RoK’s southern island of Jeju./.
