Seoul (VNA) – Any concession given by US President Donald Trump or Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un at the upcoming DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam will be significant as it will be a step forwards in the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, stated Spokesperson of the RoK presidential office Kim Eui-kyeom on February 27.

Speaking to the media, Kim said that it cannot be thought that only a big deal reached through the meeting means success, but a small also does, too.

The spokesperson’s announcement came following some statement that the second DPRK-USA summit will only reach some progress if a big deal is made when the DPRK agrees to implement positive steps in denuclearisation.

Kim Eui-kyeom held that a big deal must include smaller ones.

A White House statement revealed that the leaders of the US and the DPRK will have a 20-minute meeting before having dinner together on February 27. They are scheduled to have a series of official meetings on February 28.

The DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam is an important political and external relations event of Vietnam in 2019. The hosting of the event is part of the activities to realize the country’s policy of being a trustworthy friend and partner of the international community.-VNA
