Medical volunteers from the Republic of Korea (RoK), Military Hospital 108 and the General Hospital of Phu Yen province on July 7 completed the surgical operation for 190 children in Phu Yen province who suffered from harelip and cleft palate.

The project, which is sponsored by SK Telecom and Smile for Children Organisation, was carried out from July 2-7.

This is the 15th consecutive year that these organisations have given free surgeries to Vietnamese children with facial deformities, of whom about 3,000 children in many localities regained natural smiles after the operation.

In 2009, children from the central province of Thanh Hoa benefited from this programme./.
