The Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long will cooperate with investors from the Republic of Korea (RoK) in building and upgrading its water facilities.

To this effect, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the two sides in Vinh Long city on April 28.

Within three years since the signing, the RoK companies will provide technical advisory services for the building of clean water supply facilities and small-scaled waste water treatment stations in the province’s rural areas.

The project aims to raise the rate of rural households accessing water from centralised stations by 60 percent 2015 and 100 percent by 2020.

At present, there are 106 centralised water stations and 6,000 UNICEF-funded wells in Vinh Long rural areas.-VNA
