RoK helps bring clean water to Vinh Long rural residents

The Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long will cooperate with investors from the Republic of Korea (RoK) in building and upgrading its water facilities.
The Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long will cooperate with investorsfrom the Republic of Korea (RoK) in building and upgrading its waterfacilities.

To this effect, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was inked between the two sides in Vinh Long city on April 28.

Within three years since the signing, the RoK companies will providetechnical advisory services for the building of clean water supplyfacilities and small-scaled waste water treatment stations in theprovince’s rural areas.

The project aims to raise the rate ofrural households accessing water from centralised stations by 60 percent2015 and 100 percent by 2020.

At present, there are 106 centralised water stations and 6,000 UNICEF-funded wells in Vinh Long rural areas.-VNA

UNFPA, KOICA pledge continued support to Vietnam to eliminate gender-based violence
