A Republic of Korea national, Pyeon O Man, wanted for robbery by RoK Interpol, has been arrested by Vietnamese police.

The Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation on Social Order (C14B), under the Ministry of Public Security, announced on July 6 that the 50-year-old offender was wanted for robbing a shop owner at knife point of jewellery valued at 300,000 USD at a gold shop in Seoul.

After the crime, he was able to flee to Vietnam on May 6. He then rented a house in Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.

RoK Interpol released a notice that Pyeon O Man was wanted on June 16, 2009.

On June 24, the RoK General Consul in Ho Chi Minh City sent a diplomatic memorandum asking the Vietnamese police to arrest Pyeon O Man.

On July 2, the Korean was arrested at an internet cafe in Tan Binh district by C14B police.

Pyeon O Man is putting in temporary detention and will be handed over to the RoK police in the earliest time./.
