RoK media leaders awarded friendship insignia
The Directors of the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Munhwa and Nanum
Broadcasting Corporations, Kim Jae Cheul and Lee Jong Hyun, were awarded
with Vietnam’s ‘For Peace and Friendship Amongst Nations’ insignia at a
ceremony in Hanoi on July 2.
The Directors of the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Munhwa and Nanum
Broadcasting Corporations, Kim Jae Cheul and Lee Jong Hyun, were awarded
with Vietnam’s ‘For Peace and Friendship Amongst Nations’ insignia at a
ceremony in Hanoi on July 2.
The honour was handed over by the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), Vu Xuan Hong.
On addressing the event, Hong said that the award recognises their meaningful contributions to promoting friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, especially in humanitarian activities.
Hong praised Kim and Lee for their support for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange (AO) in the past through providing scholarships to poor students as well as free health check-ups to poor people.
In early June, MBC arranged for 80 Vietnamese AO victims to visit the RoK and attend an exchange with their peers in the RoK as well as receive medical treatment in the country.
Kim and Lee said they will continue with their activities to support Vietnamese AO victims and step up the friendship between both peoples.-VNA
