President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Myung-bak began a three-day official visit to Vietnam on Oct. 20 at the invitation of President Nguyen Minh Triet.

This is Lee’s first visit to the Southeast Asian country since he took office as RoK President in February 2008 and the fourth visit by a RoK president.

President Lee is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Yu Myung-hwan, Knowledge Economy Minister Choi Kyung-hwan, Labour Minister Yim Tae-hee, Chairman of Broadcasting and Communications Commission Choi See-joong, Trade Minister Kim Jong-hoon, and Ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong-jae.

Senior Presidential Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kim Sung-hwan, Senior Presidential Secretary for Public Relations Lee Dong-kwan and other officials are also in the delegation./.
