President Lee Myung-bak of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on Sept. 15 called on member states of the six-party talks to take united actions to deal with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s unclear ambitions as Pyongyang offered a series of conciliatory gestures.

President Lee made the appeal during a joint interview with the RoK's Yonhap News Agency and Japan 's Kyodo News Agency at the presidential office in Seoul .

Referring to the recent conciliatory gestures, President Lee said the DPRK has been embarrassed, feeling stronger-than-expected effects'' from UN Security Council sanctions tightened after its second nuclear test in May.
According to Lee, the DPRK could re-start dialogue with the government of Democratic Party of Japan leader Yukio Hatoyama, but the DPRK was still not showing any sincerity or signs that it will give up its nuclear ambitions.

The six-party denuclearisation talks involve the RoK, the DPRK, the United States, China, Japan and Russia./.
