RoK President reiterates strong ties with Vietnam

President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Park Geun-hye has reiterated her Government’s strong will to intensify the strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam, pushing bilateral cooperation to a new high with growing strategic trust.

President ParkGeun-hye made the remark at a reception in Seoul on December 18 given tonewly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Huu Chi who came to presenthis credentials.

Recalling fond memories during her visit toVietnam in September, President Park Geun-hye asked Chi to convey herthanks to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen TanDung and Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung for warm andhospitable reception.

The RoK President said she wishes the ambassador fulfil assigned tasks during his tenure.

Ambassador Chi said he will do his utmost to enhance Vietnam-RoKstrategic cooperative partnership in all fields, particularly economicsand trade.

He thanked the President for propelling all-sidedties with Vietnam, including labour cooperation. Chi also sought hersupport for the early signing of an agreement on the return ofVietnamese guest workers to the RoK.-VNA
