The Republic of Korea (RoK) will implement a programme of presentations in Vietnam in 2010 on its economy and businesses.

The RoK Embassy in Vietnam and the Korean International Exchange Fund jointly introduced the programme in Hanoi on April 2.

As part of the ASEAN-RoK cooperation project, the year-long programme is expected to benefit around 300 students from five of Vietnam’s top universities, including the Hanoi National University, the University of Foreign Trade and the National Economics University.

The programme will be held every Friday at the College of Foreign Languages under the Hanoi National University.

The programme aims to boost connectivity and bilateral cooperation between the two countries and improve the Vietnamese students’ understanding of the RoK.

The first lecture of the programme, entitled “Economic Development and Competition in the RoK”, was given by the RoK embassy’s Commercial Counsellor Jo Yung Tae. Twenty representatives from RoK agencies and businesses operating in Vietnam will deliver lectures through the programme./.
