 HCM City (VNA) – The Republic of Korea (RoK) team A won the men’s team event after beating their team B comrades 3-2 at the 31st Golden Racket international table tennis tournament that took place in Ho Chi Minh City from July 15-18.

Meanwhile, the Thai female team won gold after defeating Japan 3-1.

In the men’s singles, Park Chan Hyeok from the RoK was crowned champion after defeating his compatriot Kang Dong Soo 4-0.

On the women’s side, Thailand’s Paranang Orawan defeated Liu Ying of Ho Chi Minh City Petrosetco club 3-2 to claim gold.

This year’s event drew nearly 100 players from six countries and territories including Japan, the Republic of Korea, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China and Vietnam. 

It was also important for Vietnamese athletes ahead of the upcoming Southeast Asia Games 29 in August in Malaysia.-VNA
