The Republic of Korea (RoK)’s government will help the Vietnamese community there, as well as its residents who are working in Vietnam, to participate more actively in boosting cooperation between the two countries.

RoK Prime Minister Han Seung-soo made the statement while meeting in Seoul on Sept. 17 with Vietnamese Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan, who is in the RoK to attend the 2nd Asian Women Entrepreneurs Conference (AWEC).

He said that the RoK government and he himself are interested in “green development”, one of the main topics of this conference.

PM Han highly valued the continuous and all-round development of friendship and cooperation between the RoK and Vietnam and said he hoped that the bilateral ties will develop more comprehensively after the two nations officially become strategic partners in the coming time.

For her part, Vice State President Doan appreciated the RoK government’s attention to women, especially creating conditions for women to play a more important role in social development.

She also spoke highly of the RoK government’s preferential credit, non-refundable and humanitarian aid programmes for Vietnam over the past time./.
